These waters are great for:

  • Replacing high-calorie snacks
  • Getting you to drink more water in general
  • Helping you through times of cravings
  • Taking cute Instagram photos
  • General detox
  • Extra energy
  • Using up that last bit of fruit in your fridge
  • Changing up your routine of plain water

A fruit infuser water bottle also makes it convenient to take these waters with you on the go!

Here are the 4 homemade detox water recipes to lose weight:

1. Cucumber, Lemon, and Mint water

This detox water packs no calories and is full of vitamins and healthy nutrients! Cucumbers contain silica for healthy skin and also contain cancer-fighting nutrients.

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 Ounces of water
  • 5 Slices of cucumber
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 8 Mint leaves

Drink this when you’re feeling hungry or craving a soda.

2. Watermelon and Mint Water

This detox water recipe is really great if you’re a big coffee drinker like myself. Coffee can give you great energy and mental focus for work and exercise, but it does have the major downside of dehydration.

The watermelon in this drink provides added hydration support, and it tastes great!

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 Ounces of water
  • 4-5 Small slices of watermelon
  • 8 Mint leaves

Try not to go overboard on the watermelon if you’re actively trying to lose weight. It’s a fruit and does contain sugar.

3. Dr. Oz Apple and Cinnamon Water

Are you a serial “snacker?”

Do you have 100 cal packs in your pantry?

Have you ever eaten like 5 of those 100 cal packs in a day???

(We’re all guilty of doing that at least once)

If you said yes to any of the above, this water is for you because it is a craving KILLER.

Apples contain pectin and fiber that block cravings and will keep you from snacking all of your calories away. They are also on the list of 10 best weight loss friendly foods.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pitcher of water,
  • 1 apple (sliced),
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick

For optimal results, let soak one hour before drinking. If you want an extra boost of vitamins, minerals, and digestion aid, add a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into the mix as well!

Think of it like apple pie in a cup – without the calories!

4. Lemon and Cayenne Pepper Detox Water (Cleanse-Focused)

Are you a party girl? Does an IV with red wine sound like something you’d be “willing to give a try?”

I get it because that’s totally me!

Chances are if you do enjoy your fair share of drinks, your liver could use a little detox. While this drink is not for the faint of heart, it can help cleanse and detox your digestive system.

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 Ounces of water
  • ½ Lemon, sliced
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

Drink slowly as the cayenne pepper can take some time getting used to. If it’s too much, add less cayenne next time.
