Peanut Butter & Banana Power Protein Smoothie

Peanut Butter Banana Power Protein Smoothie

This smoothie is great for breakfast or an afternoon snack.  The peanut butter, banana, and chocolate protein powder combination is to DIE for!  It tastes like a dessert!

I often have it after my workouts, because my body needs the protein and it tastes like a treat after a hard workout!

Peanut Butter Banana Power Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

Protein Powder, 1 scoop
Unsweetened Non-Dairy Milk, 1 1/2 cups, Coconut, Cashew, or Almond
1 Banana
Peanut Butter, Organic, 2 tbsp or PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter, 2 tbsp
Ice, 5-6 cubes

Make sure you use organic peanut butter OR this fabulous stuff called PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter. Almost all standard peanut butter brands (including JIF) that you buy at the grocery store have hydrogenated or partially-hydrogenated oils in the ingredients… AKA trans-fats. Stay FAR AWAY from those! BUT this awesome powdered peanut butter is made from REAL peanut butter, and it has 85% less calories than regular peanut butter.  It’s AWESOME in smoothies 🙂 You can find it in some grocery stores, but it’s much cheaper on Amazon.

Now let’s talk protein powder.  I have a whole post on the best kinds here.  I highly recommend Fitmiss Delight, Chocolate flavored.  It’s made for women, and it tastes great!

Instructions:

If you have a Vitamix or other high-powered blender, toss everything in at once and you’re good to go!

If you have a standard blender, you may need to break up the banana or add the ice a little bit at a time.

I highly recommend the Vitamix. I bit the bullet and purchased one a couple years ago when I was a vegan, but it makes life SO much easier when making green smoothies. I purchased a refurbished one like this one from Amazon, because it’s about half the price and the manufacturer guarantees them for several years.

Note: If you’re looking for a step down from the Vitamix but a big step up from a standard blender, the Ninja Professional Blender is also a great option!
