Bunless Burger & Homemade Sweet Potato Fries

Burgers and fries get a bad rap for being unhealthy, bar food, but this recipe is delicious and very healthy! It’s a great option for all of you gluten-free eaters.

Plus these sweet potato fries are to DIE for!

Bunless Burger & Homemade Sweet Potato Fries | Health and Happy Hour

Ingredients:

Grass-fed Ground Beef, 1 lb lean
Tomato, sliced
3 Sweet Potatoes, sliced
Lettuce
Cajun Seasoning

Optional Toppings: Mustard, Pickles, Onion, Avocado, Ketchup

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.  Slice up the sweet potatoes like fries or use a spiralizer to make curly fries.  Don’t be intimidated by these contraptions.  They’re super easy to use and clean.  I have this one from Amazon.  It’s a bestseller, and it works awesome!

My recommendation when slicing them more like matchsticks is to use a ceramic knife.  My boyfriend’s mom, who has like every kitchen gadget known to man, introduced me to these.  When you use these, it feels like you’re slicing butter rather than potatoes! They also don’t need sharpening, which is awesome! Just be careful though, because they are VERY sharp!

For best results, soak the sliced potatoes in water for 5-10 minutes.  This step isn’t necessary though if you’re short on time.  It just makes them a little crispier.

Coat the sweet potato slices in olive oil and spread out in a pan covered in parchment paper (best) or foil. Sprinkle cajun seasoning on the fries. Cook for 40 minutes, turning over once halfway through, or until done.

While those are cooking, form patties with the beef and cajun seasoning and sauté on medium heat in olive oil for 10-15 minutes or until desired tenderness.

Garnish with tomatoes, avocado, onion, mustard, lettuce, etc.
